How It Works
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
We don't rely on a generic AI chatbot. Our system uses RAG — a technique that pairs a large language model with a curated, medical-professional-approved knowledge base. Every answer is grounded in up-to-date clinical guidelines reviewed by medical personnel, not just general internet knowledge.
Ask a Question
Type any question about obesity management — from meal ideas and exercise plans to medication basics and GLP-1 info. Our system is built to handle real patient questions in plain language.
RAG Retrieves Approved Sources
Using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), our system searches a curated knowledge base of medical-professional-approved clinical guidelines and up-to-date obesity research. Only vetted, trusted sources are indexed — not the open internet.
LLM Explains in Plain Language
A large language model (LLM) reads the retrieved guideline passages and synthesises a clear, patient-friendly answer — grounded in the evidence, not hallucinated. Sources are cited so you can verify every claim.
Why RAG matters
Standard AI models can sometimes generate plausible-sounding but inaccurate information ("hallucinations"). RAG solves this by forcing the model to retrieve and reference actual documents before answering. Our knowledge base contains only sources that have been reviewed and approved by medical students and healthcare professionals, ensuring the information is clinically accurate and current.
